KNEE CAP
Material:
approx 750 yards of light weight DK yarn
Knitting Needles: 1 pr. #3 (3 1/4 mm) or to obtain gauge
GAUGE: 7 sts = 1 "; 10 rows = 1"
Cast on 88 sts. Work in K 2, P 2 rib for 2 3/4". Rib 48 sts.,
turn, K 8 (garter st), turn, K 9, turn, K 10, turn. Continue in
this manner, knitting 1 more st. each row until 22 ribbed sts are
left on each side of the garter-st. cap. Continuing on garter
sts. only, turn, K 41, K 2 tog, K 1, turn.
Next Row: K 40, K 2 tog, K 1
Next Row: K 39, K 2 tog, K 1
Continue to dec. 1 garter st. at the end of every row until 8
garter sts. remain. Pick and knit 16 sts along side of cap. P 2,
K 2, across 22 sts.
Next Row: Working ribbing across all sts. Pick up 16 sts along
other side of garter-st. cap, rib remaining 22 sts.
Work 2 3/4" in K 2, P 2 ribbing and bind off in rib.
