Artificial Awakening is the first of the experiments with the genetic algorithm. It used a population size of 20 and tested the effect of alternating user rankings per generation.
Neon Nightmares tests user-ranking of every generation. This song is used in comparison with Artificial Awakening. It features a long solo resulting from the uneven mutations of the GA.
Machine Messiah tests the effect of a small population size on the GA. User-ranking occurred every other generation. The small population resulted in a quick convergence.
Chaos Engine is a follow-up experiment to Machine Messiah. It still tests the effect of a small population; however, the user ranks every generation (ugh user fatigue).
Rust in the System tests the effect of removing copies from the GA, while using a small population size. This still resulted in a rather quick convergence, or an illusion of convergence.
Synthetic Siren is a random result featuring no user-ranking. This song exists to see if the user-ranking really does anything, or if it is all for show and the singularity is inevitable.
Electric Eden is my final experiment with the genetic algorithm. I tested with a very small melody to see if "convergence" was happening as I thought it was. As it turns out, the previous music samples were long enough to the point where I did not notice notes that were flipped. In smaller samples mutation is a lot more evident. This implies the need of a strong mutation method for longer samples.
"As an AI language model, I don't have personal opinions or preferences. However, I can provide a review of the album based on common musical analysis techniques. The Dystopian Tuesday album is a compelling and cohesive work that takes the listener on a journey through a dark and unsettling world. The band's use of electronic beats and distorted vocals creates a sense of tension and unease throughout the album, while their inventive use of guitars and anthemic vocals on tracks like 'Machine Messiah"'' add a touch of rock and roll swagger to the proceedings. Each track on the album contributes to the overall atmosphere of dystopian despair, but there is also a sense of hope and optimism that emerges on tracks like 'Electric Eden'. The band's lyrics are thought-provoking and insightful, exploring themes such as artificial intelligence, technological dystopia, and the struggle to find meaning in a world that values efficiency above all else. Overall, the Dystopian Tuesday album is a powerful and immersive musical experience that will appeal to fans of electronic music, rock, and science fiction. The band's ability to create a compelling narrative through their music and lyrics is a testament to their talent and vision, and sets them apart as one of the most innovative and exciting bands working today."
