In the HCI programs, students learn to design, evaluate, and implement new information technologies that are understandable, usable, and appealing to a wide variety of people. Students undertake core courses to gain knowledge in areas such as Psychological Research Methods, Graphical User Interfaces, User Experience, HCI Methods, User Interface Design, Hypermedia and Software Design
Graduate seminars and electives are where many of the more interesting and specialist topics are studied. There are many seminars and electives that are available from many departments across the campus in many areas, including : Data Visualization, Software Entrepreneurship, Big Data, Smartwatches, Virtual Reality, Game Design, Robotics, Cross-Cultural HCI, Data Acquisition, Transhumanism, Human Factors, Linguistics, Multimedia, Semiotics, Artificial Intelligence, Cognitive Science, Psychology, Health Information Technology, Bioinformatics, eHealth, Databases, Wearable Technology, Digital Art, Web Design, Sensor Design, Animation, Communication, Social Networking, Techno-Culture, Educational Technology and many more.
Graduate Certificates
Graduate certificate qualifications are often undertaken by students while completing their HCI masters degree. Using electives to fulfil the requirements of one of these graduate certificates, students can graduate with two qualifications within the timeframe taken to complete their masters degree. Graduate certificates are available in the following disciplines:
