Introduction to Scripting and Markup Languages


Overview


This course will investigate the syntactic and semantic programming properties of scripting languages. We will focus primarily on java script. Investigation will be of the properties and applications of Standard Generalized Markup Languages, (HTML and XML) and ways in which scripting languages work with them.


Course Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, a student will have achieved the ability to:

  1. Create Web pages using HTML and CSS
  2. Write JavaScript to produce and interact with web content
  3. Be able to discuss the concepts underpinning Web Applications
